For the second time we could book the cottage, this time in a better season. What was really lovely were the sheep and the lambs. We were woken up by them in the morning, wonderful!!!
The cottage is very complete and cozily furnished. Also nice walking opportunities in the area. We will definitely come back again!!!!

What a wonderful time we had. We received a lovely welcome with an excellent tour given by Gijs. We got to see the cow barn and sheep quarters. There were calves and lambs, absolutely delightful! Simone, Eddy and Gijs are very hospitable. As a welcome there was a beautiful bouquet of tulips, how lovely! We brought our dogs along and they had complete freedom too. They had a wonderful time as well. The cottage is spacious, clean with a lovely large dining area. An added feature is the viewing window in the bathroom where you can spot sheep and lambs. The alcove bed is also wonderfully comfortable and waking up is enjoyable with the sounds of the animals. The upper floor is spacious with a great view over the meadows. In short: highly recommended!

We managed to book this wonderful cottage at the last minute for a midweek stay. Everything was included, and we could enjoy sitting outside despite it being October. The surroundings were lovely for cycling. Everything was excellent!!! We will definitely book it again in a better season.

Nice cottage: beautifully and completely furnished. Very friendly and helpful owners. You walk straight into the village of De Rijp. Hoorn is 20 km away and also very nice. I would love to stay again.

We felt very comfortable there. You have direct contact with the sheep living there and the household dog. The landlord is very nice and accommodating. The house is very lovingly decorated and cozy. There was even basic supplies like coffee, plastic wrap, laundry detergent, spices, etc. on hand, which is very practical. The upstairs bedroom is very cozy with a view of the wildlife. Conveniently, every window there has mosquito protection. An air conditioning unit, as stated in the listing, we did not see, but it is not necessary anyway. We felt very comfortable there and would like to come back. The town (5-10 minutes on foot) is very beautiful. You can take an electric boat through the canals and eat very well. The tapas bar in the center is also excellent. For about thirty euros you can order 8 rounds of tapas (always 2 pieces). They were very delicious, but you should plan for about 3 hours and make a reservation. To the nearest beach it is about 35 minutes, to Edam about 15 minutes.

The cottage contains everything needed for a wonderful stay. The box bed is that extra touch that sets it apart from other cottages. Plenty of space, there were three of us, but it's large enough for 5 to 6 people. The staircase leading to the upper floor is quite steep. There's a private terrace with a picnic bench, so you can also enjoy sitting outside. Beautiful rural surroundings and within walking distance of De Rijp. Schoorl, Bergen and the beach are about half an hour by car. In short, an excellent base for exploring the area.

We had a very lovely and relaxed time with Simone. She and her husband provided us with helpful tips for worthwhile excursions and were always willing to answer questions about the work on the farm. A major highlight for our 5-year-old daughter was the opportunity to drive the young sheep to the new pasture and of course the daily cuddle sessions with the farm dog Luna. Our older boys, on the other hand, enjoyed our beach trips. The beaches of Ijsselmeer, Markermeer and the North Sea are about half an hour's drive from the farm. And of course all the children wanted to sleep "in the cupboard" at some point! ;-) In any case, we really enjoyed our time with Simone and can only recommend her further.

Very calm and rural well equipped little house on a farm, warm and friendly hosts, cows pasturing just over the fence, not more than 30 minutes drive to any famous North-Holland-Location: Amsterdam, Vollendam, Marken, North Sea coast... and not to forget the idyllic De Rijp village just 500 meter away. We'll be back!

A wonderful week in a lovely area. The converted barn is lovingly designed and has everything you need. The "hidden" bed in the bedroom was a highlight and is also spacious enough for 2 adults. Simone, Eddy and Gijs are super helpful and have great excursion tips. The area is very versatile with the seaside resorts on the North Sea, the larger towns inland and the nice places on the Ijsselmeer, and everything is reachable by car in a maximum of 30 minutes. De Rijp is within walking distance and also very worth seeing. A boat trip with the electric boat is definitely recommended there. Thank you very much for this relaxing week. We would love to come back.

We were pleasantly surprised to be able to stay at the vacation cottage during Corona times. With the 1.5 meter distance, it works fine. We enjoyed the hospitality of Simone, Eddy and Gijs and the farm life in the Beemster.
We (a family with 2 boys aged 12 and 11) felt like we had really gotten away from it all and gained a wonderful glimpse into life on the farm.
The cows were let out to pasture, sheep were sheared and a calf was born during our visit.
Highly recommended!!

Heartfelt thanks for the hospitality of Simone, Eddy and Gijs.
We spent three weeks in this lovingly and well-furnished holiday cottage in September 2019 and enjoyed every moment here. Simone was always ready with advice, whether for excursions, shopping opportunities, etc.
De Rijp, as well as nearby places like Edam, Monnikendam, Alkmaar, etc., pleased us very much. The North Sea beaches are also easily accessible in a short time.
We can certainly imagine spending our holidays here again.

What a wonderful vacation!!

The cottage is thoughtfully and practically designed, and the bunk bed is the absolute highlight for children. I also posted a picture of the current table, which impressively invites group meals and the comfortable chairs invite long evenings.
Simone, Eddy and son Haisch (I don't know how to spell the name correctly ;-)) are very kind and always helpful. My son (8) in particular was thrilled because he got to herd sheep and ride on the tractor. He cried on the drive home because he missed his new friend Haisch, who had played outside with him every day.
Bicycles and boats are advisable. And Amsterdam and the North Sea with beautiful beaches are easily accessible by car.
Beaches can be visited with dogs, parking is free from 7 p.m., and most dog owners let their pets run around freely off the leash.
Heartfelt thanks once again and best wishes for future rentals. A return visit would be worthwhile!!!

First of all, a big thank you - dear Simone, dear Eddy and dear Reis,
You are such hospitable landlords - that is simply wonderful.
The holiday home at the farm lacked nothing, plenty of space, all necessary household appliances including various hiking maps.
We were welcomed warmly right away and were able to enjoy the vacation in a beautiful area.
This sunny summer holiday was lovely, we were able to store our paddle boats in the sheep shed, and with them we made three wonderful paddle trips.
Our paddle tour across Alkmaar reminded us of our Leipzig.
We also stored our bikes in the sheep shed.
You can also explore the scenic area by bike.
So once again, a big thank you to De Rijp, to Simone, Eddy and Reis.

Great! We were very warmly welcomed and felt very comfortable on the farm. The accommodation in the converted barn is lovely.

Comfort Home
A very cozy, inviting vacation home that makes you feel right at home. Everything you need is there, the beds are excellent, and the peace is indescribable. Simone is a friendly host who was always there to help with advice and support. Two bicycles were available for exploring the surrounding area, and De Rijp invites you to visit with its nice restaurants and historic old town. We had a wonderful rest and we're sure we'll be back.

Hello Simone,
we stayed for a week in your beautiful house in a wonderful location in North Holland. A spectacular area. Equipped with all amenities, and of course we can't forget Gijs.
Highly recommended for anyone looking to get away and relax for a few days.

Eli en Iris

Dear Simone,

Last month my uncle Eli and his granddaughter Iris stayed with you for a few days.
I wanted to let you know that they enjoyed it very much and Eli in particular thought it was wonderful to be on a farm for a while and appreciated your hospitality.

Kind regards, Dinah Engels

What a lovely Easter weekend we had at Simone's and her family's place.. such a cozy house. From the bathroom we looked out at all the little lambs! Within walking distance of the beautiful village of De Rijp. Simone is very hospitable and her animals mean everything to her. This house is really a recommendation!

We had a fantastic time at Over De Rijp! Simone was a wonderful hostess, making us very welcome and providing all we needed, including kind use of a couple of bicycles. The cottage is lovely and we especially liked the cute bed in the wall. It is such a lovely area and so nice to look out and see cows, sheep, birds and beautiful green grass. A great place to stay. Thank you Simone!
